Dr. Varsha Tripathi D.C.

Dr. Varsha Tripathi’s passion for healthy living and fascination with the mechanics of the human body sparked a desire to pursue a career in healthcare. She completed her BSc. in Kinesiology with Honours at McMaster University, where a love for sports led to a successful four years on the varsity rugby team. It was during this time, after incurring a number of injuries, that she was introduced to the benefits of chiropractic care. Dr. Tripathi graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. In learning the importance of addressing muscle imbalances, she discovered how well yoga therapy and chiropractic care complement one another. A lifelong yoga practitioner, she then acquired a teaching certification from the Sivananda Yoga Centre.

Dr. Tripathi has additional training in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, Complete Concussion Management (CCMI), OTZ Technique, Post-Natal Rehabilitation and Advanced Pediatric Techniques. She believes in a holistic approach to care and integrates different tools in order to reduce pain and restore biomechanical function in the body. Through a combination of techniques including manipulation, clinical acupuncture, myofascial release and active rehabilitation, she is able to treat neuromusculoskeletal disorders and related functional manifestations.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Tripathi can be found triathlon training or teaching yoga in the local community. Her goal as a practitioner is to help patients discover within themselves the tools to achieve balance in both mind and body.

Dr. Michelle Liberty D.C.

Dr. Michelle Liberty has been a chiropractor for over 27 years helping thousands of people of all ages from newborns to the elderly. Her own experiences with back pain and chronic headaches as a teen and athlete led her to become a chiropractic patient during university. That experience changed her health and life in such a profound and positive way that she was inspired to become a Chiropractor.

Those early experiences also helped shape her philosophy toward healthcare that is exemplified today in taking a total body approach. Identifying and treating the primary underlying issues that often lead to impaired nervous system function is vital for restoring and optimizing health. This approach also encompasses issues of poor posture, disharmony in strength and flexibility, and abnormal or painful biomechanical function of the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Liberty works closely with other health practitioners such as registered massage therapists, naturopaths, personal trainers and a hypnotherapist to ensure that all aspects of her patients’ health are being addressed.

Following a thorough functional assessment of the nervous system, skeleton and muscles, a personalized treatment plan is designed for each patient based on three basic health principles:

  • the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) controls the health, function and healing of the entire body: treatment to remove interference in the flow of nerve system communication between the brain and body will allow the body to be as healthy as possible and to heal more rapidly and completely when injured
  • a strong and flexible musculoskeletal system in proper balance and with good postural alignment avoids unnecessary stresses, strains and degeneration to muscles, tendons and joints
  • a healthy lifestyle with good nutrition, exercise/movement, and mental well being are essential components of a total body health approach. This is why Dr. Liberty works so closely with other allied health practitioners

Through a collaborative and rehabilitative approach with her patients and their healthcare team, Dr. Liberty’s ultimate goal is to create lasting results for a lifetime of optimal health and healing.  Her passion for improving the health of the community also lead her to offer health education classes for various groups in her office, at the YMCA, in community centres, for sports clubs and in the manufacturing and corporate worlds.

Dr. Liberty’s interests have also inspired her to achieve another chiropractic degree as a Sports Injury Specialist. Using the same total body approach, Dr. Liberty has helped hundreds of athletes from recreational to Olympic and professional levels to recover faster and with peak performance in mind. Recently, in association with Complete Concussion Management™ Inc., she has further specialized in the prevention, assessment and treatment of concussions, both acute and chronic such as post concussion syndrome. Pre-season baseline testing of brain function for athletes helps accurately determine when it is safe for a concussed athlete to return to their sport, school or work. Dr. Liberty offers baseline testing for individuals and teams and is highly recommended for participants age 8 or older in contact sports. Athletes and non-athletes alike can suffer with concussions and associated whiplash symptoms for years if not properly assessed and treated soon after a suspected concussion.

Additionally, Dr. Liberty has achieved certifications in pregnancy and pediatric care; motor vehicle accident rehabilitation, laser therapy, custom foot orthotics, compression stocking fitting, functional neurology, and the OTZ method. OTZ is a highly specialized assessment and treatment approach to the body as a whole, with special attention to the upper neck and skull which ensures proper brain-body communication and function. It is a vital part of the total body approach as it can influence the outcome of every injury and condition that our patients experience from concussions and headaches to back pain, frozen shoulder or foot pain.

“I love working with patients to help them recover their health and vitality. Collaborating with patients and guiding them on a new path towards living to their full potential by achieving and maintaining good health is a great passion of mine. Despite past health issues and genetics, with the right care it is never too late to live an optimal, healthy and active life!”

Dr. Lianna Bahry D.C.

Prior to attending university, Dr. Lianna Bahry occupied the majority of her time on the ice rink as a Competitive Figure Skater. It was through figure skating that she became fascinated with movement and body mechanics. She then began coaching and this lead her to finding her passion in working with people.

Throughout university and during her postgraduate doctorate in chiropractic, Dr. Bahry also worked as a Kinesiologist and instructed individuals in creating exercise programs focusing on Functional Strength-Training. By doing so, she fostered a mind-body awareness that carried forward into her care. Maintaining this holistic belief, she focuses treatment on the restoration of the entire body’s physical and mental function.

Graduating from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Dr. Bahry is an active member of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, The Ontario Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Chiropractic Association. She strives to provide the best care possible to her patients through continuing education and evidence based care.

A mother herself, Dr. Bahry has benefited tremendously from ongoing care received throughout her pregnancy. She has a special interest in working with pre/post natal patients and paediatrics. She strives to empower her patients, build community and create a space where conscious parenting is valued and explored.

Dr. Bahry’s expertise in biomechanics and the neuro-musculoskeletal system has allowed her to successfully care for patients with a wide variety of conditions. She utilizes a holistic approach where the entire body is treated, not just the symptoms. Dr. Bahry will evaluate the body’s physical function through a comprehensive and structured approach.

By combining the hands-on-techniques of Diversified and OTZ Adjusting, along with Active Release Techniques for Soft-Tissue, Dr. Bahry implements individualised patient-centred care and strives to educate and empower her patients in achieving their personal health goals.

Dr. Patricia McCord D.C.

Dr. Patricia McCord D.C., located in Toronto Canada, graduated Cum Laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 1991. Dr. McCord is one of four senior OTZ Technique instructors and, to date, is the only OTZ technique instructor practicing in Canada.

Dr. McCord runs two very successful multi- disciplinary clinics. Both clinics offer complementary alternative health care doctors and therapists who work hand in hand to address a full spectrum of health care needs for patients through natural means. In order to individualize each patient’s treatment protocol from a chiropractic perspective, Dr. McCord incorporates several manual techniques in addition to her OTZ specialization (i.e. MPI, Gonstead, Diversified, SOT) in the treatment of both spinal and extremity related conditions.

Dr. McCord’s path to becoming a chiropractic doctor began after being successfully treated for chronic postural strain by a CMCC (Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College) student intern. She was inspired by the intern’s ability to positively improve the quality of life of his patients safely and effectively. It was clear that her career path at that time as a financial analyst would never prove to be nearly so rewarding. Awakened by this revelation, Dr. McCord embarked on a 6 year journey, left the financial brokerage firm, entered York University, acquired the necessary prerequisites for Chiropractic College and emerged from CMCC as a newly minted DC in 1991. She feels that chiropractic is her true vocation in life and has been in love with taking care of patients ever since.

In addition to delivering full-time patient care, Dr. McCord is a CMCC approved mentor and, in that capacity, has helped many students to gain additional clinical experience outside of the school environment. Over and above the formal mentorship program, Dr. McCord has always encouraged students to come into her clinic to observe a real life practice during the day, and to assist in the improvement of their adjustment and diagnostic skills after clinic hours.

Dr. McCord reached a career turning point in April 2011, when she was first introduced to the OTZ Technique at the World Chiropractic Congress in Rio De Janeiro. After over twenty years in practice and, after attending many continuing education seminars, she was excited to discover a new way to significantly improve patient outcomes. Seeing the tremendous benefits that this technique provided, she was immediately on board and through these new experiences was proud to be the first chiropractor invited to take part in a team of health professionals working with the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation, to update treatment guidelines regarding concussions with persistent symptoms.

Early success with the treatment of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome, as well as discovering typically more rapid resolution and generally better outcomes through the addition of utilizing the OTZ treatment method in her practice, Dr. McCord felt compelled to seek to become a part of the OTZ team of instructors. Dr. McCord looks forward to giving back to the chiropractic profession by assisting other doctors to master the OTZ technique for the benefit of their patients as well as the chiropractic profession as a whole.

At her clinic, Dr. McCord is currently involved in a collaborative research project with the University of Ontario, Institute of Technology entitled “The effects of OTZ Technique on neural function, health and well-being”. The goal of this study is to determine whether this upper neck problem affects brain processes as well as over health and well-being. The preliminary results of this study will be presented at the World Federation of Chiropractic Consortium in Berlin in March, 2019.
